One805 – After the fire and mudslides devastated Montecito in 2018, a new organization called “One805” was created. It was founded to raise funds and thank First Responders in the area to show them how much their efforts were appreciated during this challenging time. One805 is now a permanent 501(c)(3) corporation, raising funds for all three First Responder groups – Fire, Police, and Sheriff – purchasing equipment, supporting public safety & taking care of those who have taken such good care of our community. Santa Barbara County Bar Association (SBCBA) – With a membership of about 600 attorneys, judges, legal administrators, paralegals, law students and members of various other professions, this nonprofit organization administers many programs and activities to benefit attorneys and the community. Ventura County Bar Association (VCBA) – Established in 1906 and incorporated in 1968 as a California non-profit 501(c)(6) Mutual Benefit Corporation, the VCBA currently has 1000 members and 24 sections, committees, and affiliates. San Luis Obispo County Bar Association (SLOBar) – Formed in 1963 and is celebrating 56 years of dedicated service to the legal community, SLO Bar has a proud heritage of their many years of service. Santa Barbara Women Lawyers (SBWL) – A nonprofit organization formed in 1998 that promotes the diverse interests of women lawyers in Santa Barbara. Through its continuing legal education, evaluation of applicants for judicial office, mentoring and other programs, SBWL strives to positively impact new attorneys, law students, and prospective legal scholars while examining the problems of and proposing solutions to the internal and external factors that inhibit women in their quest for social and professional equality. American Acadamy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) – This charitable organization is advancing one of the AAML’s most important goals: to protect children and families. Greg was named a Fellow of the AAML in 2006 and has served as the President of its Southern California Chapter. Association of Certified Family Law Specialists (ACFLS) – Celebrating its 40th anniversary in December 2020, the organization started with a handful of San Francisco Family Law attorneys who had become specialists, meeting once a month at a local restaurant to chat and learn from each other. The founding members perceived that an attorney who had achieved certification as a specialist had demonstrated a commitment to the highest standards of legal competence and that should be a sufficient standard for membership in ACFLS. By becoming ACFLS members, individuals gain access to a large network of experienced colleagues and to publications and exceptional continuing education programs that will enhance their expertise and knowledge in this complex area of law. International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL) – Formed in 1986 to improve the practice of law and the administration of justice in the area of divorce and family law, the IAFL is now a worldwide association of practicing lawyers who are recognized by their peers as the most experienced and skilled family law specialists in their respective countries.
