Erin E. Schaden

Executive Director

Our Executive Director is Erin E. Schaden, an attorney licensed to practice in Maryland, New Mexico and the District of Columbia. She is an experienced family law practitioner and law firm administrator. As an integral part of our client preparation team, Erin provides legal assistance to our licensed California attorneys and keeps HLG running on all cylinders. Since she is not licensed to practice in California she cannot and does not provide legal advice.

From 2005-2010 Erin served as an attorney with Webb & Associates in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She managed and litigated family law cases from intake through trial.

In 2004-2005 she was an attorney with the Albuquerque-based family law firm, Atkinson & Kelsey. Like HLG, Atkinson & Kelsey is involved in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Erin was committed to the AAML’s principles then, as she remains now.

She was a staff attorney with Law Access New Mexico in 2003-2004. There, she reviewed family law and bankruptcy work. She also developed her administrative skills, creating training modules and establishing office procedures to ensure consistent quality case handling. She developed computer and database systems for staff attorneys and helped resolve client complaints.

In 2002-2003, Erin was the Director of the Client Services Unit for DNA People’s Legal Services, Inc., a non-profit legal aid organization in Crownpoint, New Mexico.

Through her own firm, she served the greater Maryland and Washington, D.C. area from 1997- 2001. She focused on family law and domestic violence litigation, criminal defense and bankruptcy. While managing her practice, she also held a position on the Correctional Reform Section of the Maryland State Bar (1998 -2001) and served as an attorney for The Lawyers at Bail Project in Baltimore, Maryland (1998-2000).

Recently, Erin updated her resume to become a Certified Divorce Coach and is currently accepting clients within the firm and is also available to help non-HLG clients. She is well versed in the difficult family law arenas of custody and parenting communication issues and strategic planning for a post-divorce landscape.

Erin has been a committed and energetic presence throughout her career, and HLG is fortunate to have her on board.
