Herring Law Group Team

Herring Law Group is uniquely structured and staffed toward providing our clients “concierge level” service throughout their difficult family law cases. Our experience and commitment to the family law community are unmatched in Santa Barbara, Ventura and San Luis Obispo Counties. We are recognized by judges and lawyers alike. We take our profession seriously, and our clients enjoy the rewards.

Greg Herring’s extensive background in corporate litigation uniquely qualifies HLG to handle business and professional practice matters in the family law environment. We routinely guide complex valuation, goodwill, property characterization, shareholder rights, “family enterprise” and income disputes. Greg’s experience in custody, parenting and domestic violence litigation routinely includes hearings, trials and other work with the nation’s premier experts and authorities.

Greg is a veteran trial attorney of a wide variety of state and federal courts throughout California and other states. His experience in, and commitment and service to, family law are unparalleled in “the 805”. He is the region’s only Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (aaml.org) and of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (iafl.com). The AAML is the nation”s premier family law organization, and the IAFL is the world”s.

HLG’s second attorney, Ruston Imming, joins Greg as a Certified Specialist in Family Law (certified by the State Bar’s Board of Legal Specialization). He brings over a decade of family law experience in the Santa Barbara County courts. He is a force with a combination of intellect, common sense, drive and presence.

Cassandra Glanville, a UCSB undergraduate who attended UC Hastings College of the Law, is our third attorney.

Morgan Nix, a former reporter for the Santa Barbara News - Press, clerked for Santa Barbara Superior Court Judge Brian Hill and then joined HLG as our fourth attorney in 2017.

Executive Director, Erin Schaden, is a family law lawyer who is licensed in multiple states. She does not practice in California, but she provides legal assistance and presses HLG toward streamlined and client-focused operations. Erin drives our elite client service, ensuring prompt, focused and caring interactions.
